Sinanen Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masaki Yamazaki, hereinafter "Sinanen Holdings"), a comprehensive energy-, housing-, and daily-life services provider, is pleased to announce that it entered a partnership agreement on May 9, 2023, to enhance the value of local communities through carbon neutrality and wellbeing initiatives with the Innovations for Co-creating Future Science Laboratory, Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management (Location: Hiyoshi, Yokohama City, Kanagawa, Representative: Prof. Yoshiki Yamagata, hereinafter: "Co-creating Future Laboratory") and the Greater Suwa Area Decarbonization Innovation Association (Location: Suwa City, Nagano, Chairman: Makoto Motoki, hereinafter "Greater Suwa Area Decarbonization Innovation Association").

■ Joint R&D and awareness raising to support regional decarbonization

With the goal of creating a "future society based on harmony with the environment, wellbeing, and carbon neutrality,"the Co-creating Future Laboratory is engaging in joint research with the diverse stakeholders of local communities to create the innovation needed to transition to a future-oriented society. Specifically, it is conducting research on carbon neutrality, innovation, wellbeing, and next-generation mobility based on an urban systems design approach.

To help create a decarbonized society through collaboration on these initiatives of the Co-creating Future Laboratory together with the Greater Suwa Area Carbonization Innovation Association, which we act as secretariat for, Sinanen Holdings has entered a basic collaboration agreement to enhance the value of local communities through carbon neutrality and wellbeing.

Co-creating Future Laboratory has developed"urban-area carbon mapping," which enables the total visualization of CO₂ emissions of buildings and transportation. Under this basic agreement, we plan to collaborate on the implementation of the system in the Suwa area and engage in carbon neutrality initiatives that utilize it. We also intend to conduct environmental awareness activities that leverage "seesaw," a decarbonization support community operated by Sinanen Holdings.

As a general energy service group, Sinanen Holdings will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
