Business Initiatives

LP gas is the main product of the Group. Among fossil energy sources (oil, coal, natural gas, and LP gas) both it and natural gas produce relatively smaller amounts of CO₂ emissions, and the gas emissions when burning it are very clean. As such, it holds promise as an immediately available tool for combating global warming.
It also has various distinctive characteristics that set it apart from other fossil energy sources. First, because it is easily converted to liquid form, reducing it to around 1/250th the volume, it is highly portable. This means that it can be supplied to various areas, including remote islands and mountainous areas not serviced by the utility gas infrastructure. It also makes for an immediate heat source for disaster areas.

The Group is actively engaged in the renewable energy business, utilizing clean energy to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions.
As of March 2024, Sinanen Co., Ltd. operates seven solar power plants in Japan.
We also offer maintenance support services for solar power facilities and are contributing to the growth of the solar power generation business.

Utilizing LPWA-based IoT in the supply of LP gas, which requires meter reading, delivery, and security, we have improved security and operational efficiency and are working to increase efficiency of delivery.
These efforts are expected to help reduce CO2 emissions.
*LPWA stands for "low-power wide-area." It is a collective term for new wireless communication technology that originated primarily in Europe and, as the name suggests, it provides for communication over a wide area with low power.

The Group is participating in the GX League, a forum that seeks to encourage discussion and create new markets to drive reform across the entire economic and social system to realize carbon neutrality by 2050. Under our 3rd Medium-Term Management Plan, which started in April 2023, we will strive to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and develop new businesses that contribute to decarbonization, aiming to evolve into a comprehensive energy life creation group that contributes to achieving a decarbonized society.

We are supporting the national movement "COOL CHOICE" promoted by the Ministry of the Environment to achieve the greenhouse gas reduction target. In addition to the conventional initiatives such as Cool Biz, Warm Biz, and Eco-friendly driving, we will practice "Wise Choices" that contribute to global warming countermeasures.

As a participant in the Green Eco Project, Japan Enagic Co., Ltd. is engaged in initiatives to promote and support ongoing eco-friendly driving activities, reduce CO2 emissions, lower costs by improving fuel economy, and prevent accidents.

At the Group's headquarters office, we are engaged in energy conservation activities, including thorough air conditioning temperature control and turning off lights at lunchtime.
We are also working on paperless operations by utilizing DocuWorks*, which allows us to use a server to share data between group companies.

In 2020, Sinanen Co., Ltd. launched the SINANEN Akari-no-Mori Project for protecting bountiful forests through the use of clean energy.
Through this project, we collaborate with municipalities and non-profit organizations on tree planting and forest protection activities in the aim of creating bountiful forests and preventing global warming.
