(Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Taro Nakagome), a comprehensive energy, housing, and daily-life services provider, is pleased to announce that it is supporting Koshigaya Alphas, a professional basketball team that competes in the first division of the Japanese B. League from the 2024-25 season with the aim of revitalizing the region of Koshigaya City, a community with which Melife has strong relations. As part of these support activities, Melife will implement the Love People, Love Community, Melife x Alphas Koshigaya Support Project, which is a donation activity for business plans undertaken by Koshigaya City, and is linked to the number of 3-point shots scored during a home game by players on the Alphas team.

Koshigaya Alphas is a professional basketball team with its home town based in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. The team's players and staff actively develop activities that contribute towards the local community, and the team exist as a vital icon for the Koshigaya area.

Since its establishment in 1986, Melife has developed energy services rooted in the local community focused in the Kanto region. It has contributed to the development of local communities based on its basic philosophy of "everything starts with the customer" under its mission of "safe, secure and stable" provision of services. Melife has close ties with the eastern region of Saitama Prefecture, which includes Koshigaya City, where it has established a base for its stores, filling stations, and customer center as one of the important areas since Melife started providing services there. Today, Melife has set up a showroom store in Koshigaya City and develops a diverse range of businesses that includes a real estate business.

So far Melife has donated naturally grown rice that was cultivated and harvested through the agriculture-welfare collaboration initiative at Children's Canteens in Koshigaya City, and has set up donation-type vending machines to support measures against child poverty in stores in the city.

Currently, Melife has decided to become an official partner of Koshigaya Alphas from the 2024-25 season with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of Koshigaya City alongside the team.

The Love People, Love Community, Melife x Alphas Koshigaya Support Project, which is the current donation activity, is a project that will be implemented as a social contribution activity from both Melife and the Alphas team. 5,000 yen will be awarded for each 3-point shot that an Alphas player scores during a home game then at the end of the 2024-25 regular season the accumulated amount of money based on the number of successful 3-point shots from 30 home games will be donated to eligible projects undertaken by Koshigaya City.

Currently, when an Alphas player scores a 3-point shot during a home game, the Melife jingle Love People, Love Community, Melife♪ will be played throughout the stadium and the donation amount will increase each time this jingle is heard. How about supporting the Alphas team alongside Melife in the stadium?

As a community-based comprehensive energy service company, Melife will contribute towards achieving a comfortable life in the local community and achieving SDGs with the objective of "Leave no one behind" in the future.
