The Organic Action Declaration Company certification recognizes companies that practice Organic Community Development, an initiative that Kisarazu City is attempting to pass on to the next generation as a sustainable community where people and nature can live together in harmony. In addition to having an office within Kisarazu City and conducting business activities in the city, a company is required to implement initiatives such as activities that contribute towards the local community and activities to preserve the environment as the criteria for certification.

As a company that develops businesses rooted in the local community, the Melife Kisarazu Store has implemented initiatives that make everyone in local communities feel safe, comfortable and satisfied on a daily basis through means such as Children's Emergency Shelter Shop activities and registering itself as a cooperating business in the Kisarazu City Elderly Protection Network Project. Now the store has applied for and received Organic Action Declaration Company certification due to its desire to contribute more to developing the local community.

■ Comments from Kenichi Nakano, Chiba Branch Manager, Melife Co., Ltd.

"Over time, our company has transitioned through a series of products that we handle, from solid fuels to petroleum products and LP gas.

In the future, we want to focus our strength on popularizing the use of carbon neutral LP gas to achieve decarbonization and popularize the use of energy-saving equipment.

While working on this task, we were impressed with the city's initiatives to connect with the next generation as a sustainable community where people and nature can live together in harmony. We hope to contribute towards the growth of Kisarazu City through energy."

As a community-based comprehensive energy service company, Melife will contribute towards achieving a recycling-orientated society in the local community and achieving SDGs with the objective of "Leave no one behind" in the future.
