(Headquarters: Ryugasaki City, Ibaraki, President and CEO: Taro Nakagome, hereinafter "Takara Building Maintenance"), a core building management and maintenance business operator focused on the Kanto area and a subsidiary of Sinanen Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masaki Yamazaki, hereinafter "Sinanen Holdings"), a comprehensive energy-, housing-, and daily-life services provider, introduced a cleaning service utilizing the digital transformation (DX) cleaning robot Whiz i IRIS EDITION in November 2022.

■ Introduction as part of DX promotion efforts to provide high-quality and highly efficient services

Under its 2nd Medium-Term Management Plan, which it is currently working toward achieving, the Sinanen Holdings Group is transforming its corporate climate, culture, and business model, and is promoting DX as a key measure for strengthening its management foundation and increasing its operational efficiency.

Since its founding, Takara Building Maintenance has provided cleaning for various facilities such as buildings, housing complexes, hospitals, and funeral halls. In addition, it offers total building maintenance and management including daily cleaning inside facilities and regular floor and window glass cleaning, and has provided disinfecting in facilities in recent years due to COVID-19. However, as cleaning work relies heavily on labor and time is needed to secure and train cleaning personnel, the use of cleaning robots has spread in recent years.

As part the Sinanen Holdings Group's efforts to promote DX, Takara Building Maintenance introduced a service utilizing cleaning robots in November 2022 to provide more efficient and higher quality cleaning through combining cleaning personnel and robots.

■ Accumulation and analysis of big data on robot operation status

The robot introduced is the DX cleaning robot Whiz i IRIS EDITION, which adds original options tailored to various industry needs to the Whiz i, a robot provided by SoftBank Robotics Corp. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Fumihide Tomizawa). It is an autonomous dry-type vacuum cleaner designed mainly to clean floors. The robot will first be introduced on a trial basis to some of the funeral halls that Takara Building Maintenance is contracted to manage by local governments. Following that, the service is planned to be expanded to more funeral halls and other facilities such as hospitals.

By accumulating and analyzing big data on the operation status of the robots, Takara Building Maintenance can consistently provide a higher quality and more efficient cleaning service. It will also enhance the fine cleaning work and tasks that can only be performed by humans, increasing the satisfaction of facility users by proactively providing a service that combines both cleaning personnel and robots in accordance with customer requests and the scale and specifications of facilities.

Sinanen Holdings and Takara Building Maintenance will actively promote DX in the building maintenance industry and continue to develop services that address diversifying lifestyles and changes in needs to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized and sustainable society.
