■ Promotion of local decarbonization together with tenant companies as a decarbonization support community

Sinanen Holdings began operating seesaw in June 2020. Part of our new business activities, seesaw is centered on young female employees selected in-house and was launched as a project that utilizes three floors of our former head office building overlooking the Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden.

It has been operating on a full-scale basis for over two years. With global efforts toward achieving a decarbonized society accelerating, Japan aims to realize a carbon neutral society by 2050 and is promoting the establishment of "Decarbonization Leading Areas" that will serve as model cities nationwide. As a general energy service group, Sinanen Holdings is further strengthening initiatives toward decarbonization, which is expected to accelerate in regions throughout Japan. As part of these efforts, we have renewed the shared office seesaw as a community-based decarbonization support space. We will provide comprehensive solutions for regional "green transformation (GX)" through co-creation with various companies and organizations that come together based on the theme of decarbonization regardless of factors such as industry, business type, or region.

■ Enhancement of services for decarbonization at seesaw and among tenant companies and organizations

While so far, electricity used at seesaw has been 100% renewal energy based thanks to an offsite corporate PPA (*), we have now expanded new services to further promote decarbonization in the office and among tenant companies.

* Offsite corporate power purchase agreement (PPA): An agreement type whereby a power generation business operator (including developers and investors, etc.) that owns renewable energy sources and purchasers of power (consumers, etc.) enter a renewable energy power purchase agreement for a pre-agreed price and period. Renewable energy generated off-site (not at the demand site) is supplied to the power purchaser via the general electrical grid.

1. Introduction of TBM's "MaaR for Business" -- a resource recycling system for offices

We have introduced "MaaR for business," a resource recycling service for companies provided by TBM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Nobuyoshi Yamasaki, hereinafter "TBM"), which operates business including the development of materials and production and sale of products that are environmentally friendly.

Through introducing the service, we will promote the collection and recycling of plastic items used in the office as well as the usage of environmentally friendly items so that resources are recycled through the use of seesaw.

2.Support service for calculating the GHG emissions of tenant companies and organizations

In June 2022, Sinanen Holdings declared its endorsement of the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (*1) and joined the TCFD Consortium (*2), which is comprised of endorsing companies and organizations. We disclose information concerning our initiatives to address climate change based on the TCFD recommendations on our website and are working to enhance the disclosure of information for all of our stakeholders.

Leveraging the knowledge and experience related to the calculation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that we have gained through our various initiatives, we have launched a support service for the calculation of GHG emissions of tenant companies and organizations.

*1. Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD): The Financial Stability Board (FSB) established TCFD in response to the G20 summit. It recommends evaluating and disclosing the financial impact of risks and opportunities arising from climate change on the business.

*2. TCFD Consortium: Established as a forum for companies and financial institutions that support the TCFD to come together and discuss effective corporate information disclosure and initiatives to tie the disclosed information into proper investment decisions by financial institutions.
