Energy solutions provider Sinanen Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Takashi Yasuda, hereinafter "Sinanen") will launch the new clean power plan "SINANEN Akari no Mori Denki" on January 26 (Wednesday).
The new plan, similarly to those of the past, will offer a metered rate with a 3 to 10% discount from the electric power company with jurisdiction, will return to customers the reduction in actual procurement costs for non-fossil certificates, and through the broad use of substantially 100% renewable energy (CO₂ free) by everyone, will participate in and contribute to eco-friendly activities such as forest conservation.
Furthermore, in order to commemorate the launch of the new plan, and to reduce the burden on households caused by high electricity bills in winter, a promotion is being run in which 50% off basic fees will be granted for six months to those who apply by March 31, 2022 (Thursday).* 1

■About the new "SINANEN Akari no Mori Denki" plan

(Rate plan where under the jurisdiction of TEPCO Energy Partner)

The clean power plan "SINANEN Akari no Mori Denki" is an environmentally friendly plan that offers substantially 100% renewable energy (CO₂ free) that is championed by Cinnamoroll, a popular character from Sanrio Company, Ltd (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "Sanrio"). The new plan makes it possible to use CO₂ free electric power and to participate in and contribute to eco-friendly activities such as forest conservation, while keeping monthly bills low, in exchange for the omission of certain benefits and rates associated with past supporter plans.

Electricity charges comprise of the cost for the use of electricity, the cost for the use of clean energy (0.11 yen/kWh (tax included)), and costs for use in environmental protection activities (0.1 yen/kWh (including tax) against monthly energy use). For example, in the case of a family of four living within the TEPCO Energy Partner region that consumes an average of 350 kWh per month, if compared with a monthly electricity charge only, compared to the TEPCO Energy Partner metered plan B, the savings come to approximately 260 yen *1. (Available throughout Japan, excluding Okinawa Prefecture and some remote islands)

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in more power being used due to teleworking and studying at home. In order to respond to such lifestyle changes caused by the pandemic, a cheaper rate chart is being offered for households in which the unit price for amounts exceeding 451 kWh will be set at a 10% discount to the standard metered rate of a previous general power company.

It should be noted that Sinanen shall also be spending the same amount on activity costs as the costs for use in forest conservation activities.

Through this new plan, we will contribute to the realization of a carbon-free society by delivering CO₂ free electricity to as many people as possible, as well as promoting activities that protect forests, which absorb CO₂.
