Health and Productivity Management
In order to create an environment in which each employee can work enthusiastically in good physical and mental health, the Group has set the goal that it will completely eliminate smoking during work hours, and has been gradually implementing measures to help employees quit smoking and create an environment to prevent passive smoking. The number of smokers is decreasing each year but it is still above the national average. The Sinanen Health Insurance Society provides an online smoking cessation outpatient clinic where employees can receive a low-cost medical consultation, and supports employees when they quit smoking with the cooperation of the public health nurse from the Health Management Office.

In FY 2022, we appointed a full-time public health nurse who provides health guidance and consultations based on the results of medical checkups. In addition, we are actively collaborating with health insurance associations to support employees by preventing lifestyle-related disease and engaging in activities to improve their individual health (health promotion campaigns including walking and lifestyle/habit improvement challenges). From the results of regular medical checkups, we give priority to the prevention of lifestyle-related disease (especially measures to prevent obesity and alcohol abuse as well as increase exercise activity) as issues concerning health management, and are making every effort to strengthen the steps taken after medical checkups and to prevent serious illness.

In addition to regular medical checkups for all Group employees, we carry out cancer (stomach, colon, and prostate) screening. We also have gynecology exams (breast and cervical cancer) for female employees. We will continue to expand the types of regular medical checkups we offer. The Group has a support system for balancing medical treatment with work. We have developed a "Guide Book for Supporting Work and Medical Treatment Balance" for employees with serious illnesses such as cancer, stroke or heart disease with the aim of enabling these employees to return to work while receiving support from the Health Management Office.

Stress checks are provided annually for all Group employees. In addition to holding individual consultations for employees that are under a considerable degree of stress, the results of stress checks are provided to the management of each group company in the aim of creating an environment in which employees can work in good physical and mental health. In FY 2022, we also introduced an employee assistance program (EAP) for mental health management. In addition to mental health issues, the EAP provides a point of contact and support for employees facing various circumstances that may affect their health, such as harassment, poor physical condition, challenges at home, or financial difficulty.

The Group is committed to creating a comfortable work environment that enables employees to balance work and family life. Toward this end, we have implemented various measures such as thorough management of PC logs, labor management to reduce actual overtime hours, reducing work hours, encouraging employees to take paid leave, and providing childcare and nursing care support.
